Introducing the Marmoris Handbag! This simple and chic bag comes in 2 sizes and has magnetic snaps to open the bag up wide to find what you need. The inside features a zippered pocket and a large divided slip pocket. The bag is generously sized without being too large. It can be made from various fabric mediums such as faux leathers, vinyl, cork fabric or even quilting cotton. This pattern is domestic machine friendly.

This bag has so many options, such as;

 • One or two handle straps plus an optional crossbody strap

 • Turn lock closure or any variety of bag closures

 • 3 hardware options in the pattern but endless possibilities

 • Drop-in lining

This PDF pattern includes:

 • FULL Sized Pattern pieces

 • a Cutting List (to use instead of the included rectangular pattern pieces - to save the trees!)

 • colorful and clear diagrams for most steps

 • detailed steps written for most skill levels

This pattern is for the Ambitious Beginner / Intermediate Sewist. This pattern is domestic machine friendly. You’ll need to choose your materials appropriately. You'll need to know how to install a zipper and determine interfacing to match your material choices.

  SHORT: 11 1/2"W x 7 1/2"H x 6"D

  TALL: 11 1/2"W x 9 1/2"H x 6"D

RECOMMENDED FABRICS:

SHORT

• EXTERIOR: pliable vinyl/faux leather, cork, waxed canvas or waterproof canvas

• LINING & CONTRAST LINING: quilting cotton, linen, or waterproof canvas

• WOVEN INTERFACING: Pellon SF101 or similar

• FIRM INTERFACING (for the body of the bag): Decovil Light, Pellon Thermolam Plus or fusible fleece. Alternatively, a second layer of woven interfacing can be used if the other choices are too much. 

• STIFF STABILIZER (for the Bag Base) - Decovil Heavy or Pellon Peltex

• SCRAP QUILTING COTTON (for the Hidden Connector Facings)

TALL

• EXTERIOR: pliable vinyl/faux leather, cork, waxed canvas or waterproof canvas

• LINING & CONTRAST LINING: quilting cotton, linen, or waterproof canvas

TALL

• EXTERIOR: 1/2 yard (54"x18" roll of vinyl)

HARDWARE & SUPPLY REQUIREMENTS:

SHORT & TALL

• (1) - 10" #5 Continuous zipper tape (and 1 zipper pull) or #5 commercial zipper

• (8-14) - Double capped Rivets OR Chicago screws - Post length determined by materials used (approx. 6.5mm - 9mm) 

• (1) - Turn lock

• (1) - 18mm thin magnetic snaps

• (5) - Bag feet (optional)

CHOOSE YOUR FLAP HARDWARE / BAG HANDLE OPTION

OPTION #1

• (2) - 1" rectangle rings / d-rings OR 1 1/4"- 1 1/2" O-rings / spring gate rings

OPTION #2 

• (4) - 1" rectangle rings / d-rings OR 1 1/4"- 1 1/2" O-rings / spring gate rings

OPTION #3

• (2) - 1" d-rings / rectangle rings OR 1 1/4"- 1 1/2" O-rings / spring gate rings

• (2) - 1" swivel clip

• (1) - 1" slider

RECOMMENDED HARDWARE & SUPPLIES:

 • Double sided tape (DST) OR Washaway Wonder Tape OR Fabri-Tac glue

 • Pencil or similar marking utensil 

 • Wonder clips or similar

 • Craft knife or seam ripper to cut slits for magnetic snaps

 • Tools to set rivets or chicago screws

 • Hole punch for rivets

 • Painters tape or washi tape

 • Fray-check
